Are US officials Smoking Peyote?

I can't for the life of me understand US foreign policy.

Now the Obama administration might be bombing Syrian armed forces in support of US backed Rebels. How ludicrous and reckless can a policy be?

Syrian is fighting ISIS forces as well as the Rebels. Now its military has to defend against US bombs, when they are fighting ISIS that the US says it wants to destroy.

What?????????????  Come again?  Isn't there a contradiction????

Am I dreaming or having hallucinations from smoking Peyote or is it the Administration's policy makers and military leaders? Is the main objective to destroy Syrian forces and remove President Bashar al-Assad from power-as has been the loudly voiced and arrogant objective all along?   

It would be better if US leaders would smoke the Peyote Peace Pipe than simply smoking it to get high and beat the Perpetual War Drums that have been making loud sounds for too long.
